Typewritten notes regarding the Podunk Indian site in South Windsor. Mr. Mathias Spiess's report on the locaiton of village, camp, fort and burial sites is one of the most complete of the early surveys. Many fine artifacts were taken from these sites. Mr. Spiess stated that during colonial times the Podunk Indian tribes had two permanent villages in addition to a number of large village and camp sited inhabited chiefly during the hunting and fishing seasons.
Mr. Spiess also reported that four large Podunk Indian burying grounds had been discovered.
