Oronoque shell heap and Indian village site:
Theres was an old abandoned Indian fort there when the first white settlers arrived. It is said to have been used by the Paugusett Indians.

Muskrat Hill site: About 1920 workmen digging into a sand pit started to unocver fire pits and Indian burials. Mr. Coffin went to the site and recovered "two-thirds of a large, beautiful Iroquois bowl. Mr. Coffin discovered a ceremonial animal burial pit just east of where several Indian burials had been found.
