Typewritten paper relating to Indian occupations. Even in the early days many Indians worked for white men and learned white men's trades. The Winthrop's were often trying to set the Indians up at various jobs. They did a business making wampum, trays and probably mats. They suggested them for haying, planting corn, making tar and charcoal, bricks, etc.
