Summary:
The steel freight steamer Mohawk, built at Chester, PA. in 1898 and owned by the New London Steamboat Company, got off to a bad start when at her launching she became stuck. In May of 1902 she was damaged in a fire and in 1904 she had another fire that destroyed the steamer. Her passengers were saved but Emil Larsen, the watchman, was not so lucky.
