The Little Boston Schoolhouse (1734) stands in East Lyme and is owned by the East Lyme Historical Society. Samuel Comstock was the first school master. Samuel's son, Jonathan, was its most famous student. He wrote the first natural science book in the colony. The school was for awhile the only school between Boston and New York
