Study of town of Ledyard can be found in the two Historical Volumes published by the Ledyard Historical Society (approx. 1988). They contain excellent genealogical material, history of homes, schools and churches. Ledyard breaks from Groton and about a century later, in 1835, is incorporated as the town of Ledyard. The
first meeting house was built at present location of Ledyard Center Congregational Church.
