Summary:
Carol Kimball recalls buying groceries at Mr. Ginsberg's store in Quaker Hill, Beit Brothers Market and occasionally, at the Mohican Company in New London with her Aunt May Gracey. The fine store was located on the ground floor of the Mohican Hotel on 265-285 State St. The Hotel and market were named, not for the local Mohegan Indians, but for a tribe of American Indians that once lived in northern Connecticut. Probably part of a chain of stores, shopping there was an occasion. Little did she know that this would be the store that would bake her wedding cake.
