Summary:
Kevin McBride, archaeologist at the University of Connecticut, has been conducting a dig in hopes of finding the site of the Pequot fort that was destroyed in 1637 by colonists and allied Indian tribes. McBride's crew has found pottery shards, stone tool fragments and musket balls. However, they have not found charred post remnants, thought to be the true signifiers of the actual fort location. McBride feels that they are close, and hopes to conduct another dig.
