Summary:
The present White Hall mansion was built , according to reliable authority, by Dr. Dudley Woodbridge. His son, William, died in the early part of the 19th century, and the will of his wife became famous by being written by the noted Aaron Burr. That distinguished man had some acquatanceship with these parts, as record exists of a women born into a family of distinction in the town of Stonington sending her compliments to him in a letter written by another person when she was a bright, gay child of 14.
