Summary:
The 1846 mutiny on the Mystic whaleship Meteor ended in U.S. Circuit Court in New Haven where one crew member, John Learny, was found guilty of revolt even though other crew members seemed involved and Capt. Francis A. Lester was accused of severe treatment of his crew. During the Civil War the Meteor became part of the "Stone Fleet" that was sunk in Charleston harbor.
