An Ancient Manx Ceremony- The ceremony of swearing in the great inquest. The law has become obsolete, and several futile attempts have been made to abolish it.
A Curious Irish Custom- The inhabitants of Barony of Forth believe strongly in prayers for the dea. Crosses are erected at gravesites and stashed under a bush at a spot called Brandy Cross.
Gift to Maid Servant- Isaac Duckett died leaving a sum to be invested for the purposes of the gift, which was evidently intended to foster long and faithful service.
Purity of Money. The trial of the Pyx is an investigation in to the purity and weight of the money coined in the United Kingdom.
