Mimeographed transcription of indian corn cultivation. Indians culled out the best seed for planting and taught the colonists how to determine the best seed corn. John Winthrop describes different color corn. Corn was first planted about the first of May, weeded in June, hilled in July and harvested in August. When Mohegan indians fields were old and worn out, they chose a new field, and burned all the surrounding trees to kill them. The trees were left dead to fall on their own.
