Typewritten paper describing a number of documentary sources from which more or less data on early basket–makers and their products can be obtained. A systematic surbey of the various state and toown archieves, church, court, probate and census records, marriage licenses, birth and death certificates, overseers' reports, account books of Indian traders and other merchants, diaries, stories of early travelers, local histories and newspaper accounts could yield the names of a goodly number of basket–makers.
