Photocopied newpaper article about the uncovering of the remains of an old Mohegan fort by researchers from Columbia Unversity. The researchers discovered the remains just north of an indian burial ground. This fort may have sheltered the Mohegans during the Narragansett attack led by Miantonomoh. The researchers also discovered ten refuse pits that contained numerous animal bones, shells, iron tools, and even a 1722 British coin.
