Mimeograph transcription of a letter from Isaak Derasieres to Samuel Bloomaert.

DeRasiere gives his initial impressions of the small fort "New Amsterdam", surrounding bays and the Mauritse River upon his arrival on "The Arm Of Amsterdam". He describes the Indians living there; their dress, customs, hunting , gardening, diet. He continues with his impressions of "New Plymouth" . He discusses the English of Plymouth, their homes, crops, hunting, government and relationship to the Indians. Also included is a brief description of the preparation for Indian manhood/marriage.
