Scope & Content:
Mimeograph transcription of a letter to John Allyn concerning Fitch's inability to continue in the service of the army at present due to the failing health of both he and his wife. Fitch also claims that Uncas and his men are fairly unwilling to go to war again because Ashpoet, their chief captain, is sick and the rest of the Indian fighters are weary. They have not had enough time to rest and their supplies have run dangerously low.
