Mimeograph transcription of a letter from Roger Williams to John Leverett regarding a battle during King Philips War. Joshua Tift was captured by the Narragansetts, and became a slave to spare his life. Tift was with Nananawtenu the young sachem, his brother Paupauquivewut and their captain Quaquackis. Tift describes a battle at the fort which was attacked by Mohegans and Pequots.
