Title:
Cary Latham's account to Winthrop of Wequash Cooke's seizure of property from Assumphewe.
Date:
January 16, 1648
Scope & Content:
A mimeograph transcription of Latham's account of the seizure of Assamphewe's property by a disgrutled Wequash Cooke. Items seized include a buckskin coat, a coat of Dutch cloth, Indian jewels, hemp, and corn. The actions on behalf of Cooke and his brother appear to be in retaliation for the seizure of their own property two years before by some of Uncas's men.
