Obituary and funeral account for Lemuel M. Fielding. Mr. Fielding was a direct descendant of the Mohegan indians, and known as Chief Occum. The son of Eliphalet and Lydia Ellis Fielding, he spent most of his lifetime in Norwich, working for Lee and Osgood Company. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, the Order of Red Men, active in the Mohegan wigwam, and interested in Boy Scout work.
