The Mohegan Indian Two–Stemmed Pipe
Date:
ND
Scope & Content:
Typewritten article regarding the Mohegan two stemmed pipe.

This pipe, which Owaneco claimed had been one of the Gods "own tobacco pipes" was described as being "like marble, with two stones and ye bole in the middle." The Indians sachems, convinced that the pipe was "not made by man," but was a "divine tobacco pipe," kept it "choiser yn gold from generation to generation."
