Title:
Pequots complain about Uncas injustices
Date:
July/August 1647
Scope & Content:
Mimeographed transcription of Pequot complaints regarding treatment by Uncas. The Pequots claim Uncas is tyranical; that he has defiled the wives of Obechiquod and Sannop, is demanding gifts of wampun forty times and taking the side of Mohegans in any disputes. Uncas is claimed to be upset that John Winthrop has settled Pequot, and used Robin Casasinamon for assistance in hunting.
