Photocopy of notes about the Johnson family of the Mohegan tribe. Manahawon Johnson was living at Mohegan in 1723, and was probably the Manhaughwont who signed with the tribe in 1714. He had three sons and died in September 1787. Joseph son of Joseph was born in April 1752, He married December 2, 1773 Tabitha, daughter of Rev Sampson Occum. They had two sons . William born September 2, 1774 and Joseph born in 1776. Both sons shared in the distribution of lands in 1790. Joseph went to Brothertown in 1797 and received lots 133 and 134. John Johnson is said to have come from Charlestown.
