In Colonial America it was important to be married. Marriage was considered necessary at a very early age. It was necessary for a young man to gain parental approval to engage in
court ship and was considered against the law if persued by young lovers.
Bundling was a very prevalent practice in colonial days. it was sanctioned by all and proved to be necessary since homes were cold and crowded.
Divorce was not unheard of and there were many divorces in the Colonial world.
