Nenekunat wants the English to know that, although Tausaquonwhut is a Pequot, he did not fight in the Pequot War. The parents support the match and hope that the two can live together on Long Island. Uncas approached the Pequot to marry his daughter initially but Tausaquonawhut was not interested.
