Scope & Content:
Mimeograph transcription of a letter to Gov. Fitz–John Winthrop concerning the movements of Avery's troops. Avery was informed that a man was killed by Indians and his wife and child taken captive. Avery's men tried to track these Indians, but were unable to find evidence of their whereabouts. Then the news came that two more men were killed and one carried captive. Avery dispatched a small band of his men, but they haven't been heard back from yet.
