Title:
Articles of agreement between the English in Connecticut and the Indian sachems
Date:
June 28, 1743
Scope & Content:
Mimeograph transcription of the English rules for the Indians made in 1638. The English declared that the Narragansetts, Mohegans, and the Pequots were now to be friends. The Pequot tribe would no longer exist; instead it's members would be adopted by the Narragansett and Mohegan tribes. If fighting occurs, the English are the ones to take care of the punishment. The Indians must deliver captured British soldiers to them and execute any of their own men who have plotted against British.
