Mimeograph transcription of a letter to John Winthrop concerning the death of Sassacus. His death had been speculated but now it is confirmed. The Mohegans and the other area tribes would like to make slaves of the surviving Pequots. Davenport also complains that his men are refusing to fight because they do not have enough provisions to sustain themselves throughout the long days of walking and battle.
