Scope & Content:
Mimeographed transcription of a general assembly order voided the act of October 1732 that gave the proprietors of Groton use of half the Mashantucket land. The assembly viewed the abuses of destroying crops and cutting down firewood against the indians as not conforming to the terms of the act. The overseers of the indians were empowered to prosecute suits in law on behalf of the indians.
