Mimeographed transcription of a petition by Benoni Occum on behalf of the Mohegan people to the county court of New London. The petition affirms Mohegan ownership of 3000 acres of land on the west side of the Thames (Pequot) river. This land was set aside for the tribe by Uncas. Occum reminds the court of the close friendship Uncas had with the English and the warriors sent into battle to help the English.
