Title:
Letter from Wait Winthrop to John Winthrop JR.
Date:
July 4, 1675
Scope & Content:
Mimeographed transcription of a letter from Wait Winthrop to John Winthrop Jr. detailing his travels to Norwich. Upon reaching Norwich, Wait Winthrop received word that King Philip's braves had attacked and killed twelve people in Swansey and Rehoboth. Nenegraft (Ninecraft) claims to not have a part in this, though six of his braves claimed otherwise. Wait asks that the English send a party of Mohegan and Pequot indians into Philip's area.
