The Indian women have the easiest labours of any women in the world... when they are come to a bush or tree that they fancy they lay them down and are delivered in a trice, not so much as groaning for it.
The children were given names "when they are men grown".
It is probable that the girls and boys both had some sort of a coming–of –age party.
The boys are trained up to their bows from childhood; the girls stay with their mothers and help to hoe the ground, plant corn, and cary burthern.
