Indenture between Selectmen of Groton and Obadiah Bailey, June 7, 1784, binding Hannah Chester, orphan of 14 years, to apprentice to Bailey until she reaches 18 years. She shall obey all lawful commands, not commit fornication nor matrimony, etc.; learn sewing, spinning, knitting, housework. He will provide her with two suits of clothes, a new Bible, at end of period. Signed by Nathan Niles, Christopher Morgan, Isaac Avery, Selectmen Bailey, witnessed by Stephen Billings, Nehemiah Smith; Thomas Avery, J.P., assents and approves of placing of Hannah Chester. One piece. 11 7/8 x 7 1/4".
