Since 1954, Nov. 11, has been Veterans Day, a date once called Armistice Day when the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month marked the moment when the world was made safe (at the end of WWI) for democracy. Subsequent wars made it appropriate to honor all of our Veterans of Foreign Wars.
