Summary:
Anson Morgan of Old Mystic remembers more snow that lasted longer in Old Mystic. Roads were not plowed but the tolley tracks were kept clear or snow. Sleds and hills were an important part of the winter fun. The few homes with electricity (Anson's family had it) would light the night for winter games. The Day reported Feb. 5 of 1918 that Fishers Island Sound was frozen over from the mainland at Mystic.
