This article is about an origanization known as the East Lyme Historic Cemetery Commission. The main purpose of the organization is to preserve cemeteries from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuriesmany of which are quite small. The article mentions several of these cemeteries and the stories behind them. One of those cemeteries is located outside of a "pest house" and is mainly a burial site for those who died of infectious diseases. Some of the cemeteries mentioned in records have not been located due to insufficient descriptions. The organization is working to preserve the cemeteries mainly to help people find their ancestors.
