Herman C. Main of North Stonington died at the Backus Hospital Saturday night about 8 o'clock as the result of injuries sustained when he was struck by the trolley express of the Norwich and Westerly Traction Co. about an hour before. Conductor Whitmarsh and Motorman Jencks, the crew of the trolley express, which left Westerly at 6.50 o'clock, a few minutes ahead of the regular car, noticed a dark object partly on the rails and between the rails and the station platform as they approached the Mystic road crossing.
