Summary:
Coincidentally, a painting owned by the New London County Mutual Insurance Company has been moved to an office building which shares the same view as the painting itself. The painting was comissioned in 1958, and completed by an art instructor at Norwich Free Academy. The painting was based on a lithograph created in 1849, and consequently the painting portrays the view as it was seen in the 19th century. Also, since the company's new headquarters was built in the same spot the original lithograph was portraying. Many of the buildings in the painting are no longer standing, but the perspective is the same.
