Summary:
Kevin McBride, assistant professor of anthropology at the University of Connecticut, in undertaking extensive study of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and just now beginning archaeological digs, with the assistance of students. So far he has found evidence of a continued tribal lifestyle, even in the face of colonial settlement. He notes that archaeology is "90 percent tedium and 10 percent excitement." The most unique thing he has found to date is a diary written in Spanish during the 1780's by a Pequot visitor.
