Summary:
In a cemetery near the Dow Chemical plant on the Thames River, known as Allyn's Point, are the graves of the Allyn family. The family owned nine miles of riverside property. Robert Allyn died in 1683 aged 75. His decendents, Captains Samuel and Simeon Allyn along with Belton and Benadam Allyn, all died on September 6, 1781, in Fort Griswold, at the Battle of Groton Heights.
