Summary:
Carol Kimball's grandfather, Dr. Edward Cornet, praticed medicine in Uncasville in the early 1900's and he had his own remedy for the common cold, Kelly medicine. She never learned the secret ingredients but it tased like lard-laced with kerosene. That and Fletcher's Castoria along with a large pan of onion syrup combined with local honey and lemon juice were part of the cold remedies her family used.
