Summary:
Lightning destorys the large, uninsured, barn of Lafayette Main's. The barn, believed to be approximately 250 years old, was one of the first buildings to be built in that section, and measured 80x34 feet and was covered with 60,000 feet of slate. The building was one of the oldest landmarks in town, built with axe hewd oakl\, some timbers being 40 feet long and 10 inches in square.
