Summary:
Regardless of weather or the social calendar, Monday was always the washday and it was labor intensive and a clothes wringer was both a boon and hard to manage. Winter or summer clothes were hung on the line and it was fun to watch everyone's clothes flapping in the breeze. Boiling water, starch, wooden dowels were part of the reaason the Maytag washing machines with a power-driven wringer were welcomed. Life is simpler nowadays, be thankful.
