Miss J. Elizabeth Bentley of 339 Willow Street, New Haven, a techer for many years in the schools of Connecticut, died Sunday morning, Oct. 14, in the New Haven Hospital after a short illness. Since 1913 she had taught in the schools of Bridgeport. Born in the town of Stonington, she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. Bentley and Louise A. Wheeler. Her ancestors were among the earliest and most prominent settlers of Stonington.
