Summary:
Carol Kimball recalls childhood summers at Camp Wakenah near Gardner Lake as a camper at Camp Cedarcrest opposite the Boy Scout camp. Camping reminded her of Native Americans like Harold Tantaquidgeon who was chief of the Mohegan tribe from 1952 to 1970. Harold was a descendant of Uncas who also like to camp at Gardner Lake. He built a wigwam village and dressed in indian garb to greet the Boy Scouts.
