Photo of the city of New London, 1880's. Only yesterday- this is how the City of New London appeared during the 1880's. The scene is The Parade at the lower end of State Street, later a disembarking point for trolleys and buses. At the wharf, steamers, ferries, and vessels of all types came to call. Note the wooden flag pole.
