Summary:
George Stone, North Stonington resident and author of "Cracker Barrel Chronicle: a Yankee Store Keeper's View of Village Life" was presented with an official citation from the Connecticut General Assembly honoring him for his contribution to town history as a newspaper writer, storyteller and historian. Anna Coit, president of the North Stonington Historical Society, credits Stone with keeping an eye out for important historical documents and artifacts "whenever the Town Hall was renovated or underwent a major cleaning."
