Summary:
Background: Fort Lewis College set up at 4 corners of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, where Indians could attend for free. 60 years later (1971) the State of Colorado threatens to go back on its committment of free tuition. New law will still allow Colorado Indians to attend tuition free, but will charge Indians from other states. This will hit the poorer tribes hard. College programs for Indian culture will be dropped as well if this law stands up.
