Summary:
When an unknown wreck was discovered near our local Race Rock last fall, some thought it might be the Surcouf. The fate of the French submarine Surcouf, accused by the British of spying for Hitler during Worldl War II, is a mystery. However, one popular theory is that the sub was spotted in Block Island Sound giving fuel to a German U-Boat and was sunk by another submarine or the Coast Guard. Edward Keifer is writing a book about the Surcouf.
