Sheriff George O. Jackson announced appointment of C.M. Hatchell of this city to be jailer here, succeeding F.H. Talcott, resigned. Miss Bertha L. Hempstead, who had been matron at the jail, also resigned and with her mother, Mrs. Joab I. Rodgers, returned to Gales Ferry to live.
