Summary:
Forsythia, magnolias, Bradford pears, weeping cherries, Nanking cherries, dogwood blossomed and held the spotlight before a too swift passing that distressed Carol Kimball's Aunt Pearl, an inveterate gardener who once lived on Noank Road. Carol's father hoed his vegetable garden and loved his flowers, especially the white ones, which he gave to Carol's mother and sometimes presented to the ladies as The Day where he worked as a maintenance man. Carol Kimball's hip replacements, by Dr. Turner, ended her gardening days, but she still enjoys the gardens of others, like the weeping cherry on Route 27 in Mystic where her friend George Hewitt once lived.
